Taking Back Sunday, a rock band from Long Island, played last night, June 22, to a sold out audience as they opened.

For those not familiar with Taking Back Sunday here is a quick run down on them. The band formed back in 1999, since then they have released four studio albums, had 12 singles and have gone through 11 band members (including current members). ‘MakeDamnSure‘ has been their highest charting single thus far, peaking at #8 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart in 2006 and #48 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Last night’s show was Taking Back Sunday’s first time performing with the original line up since 2003 but from how they performed the band did not skip a beat while being apart.

After the crowd chanted ‘Taking Back Sunday’ and ‘TBS’ the band came out to a highly energetic crowd. The first song the band performed was ‘Cute without the ‘E’ (cut from the team)‘ one of their first singles off their first album ‘Tell all your friends.‘ The crowd sang along to every single word of every song and with intensity. In total they play 18 songs for the night.

From there the band went through a variety of  songs they have recorded over the past decade even though two of the members were not apart of the creative process for three of the albums, two new songs that they have recorded since reforming the original line up of Takng Back Sunday and also played ”Existentialism on Prom Night,‘ a song from the band Straylight Run, which two of the current band members were in.

Although the rest of the shows for this mini tour are sold out, if you get the chance to get to one of their shows do it! If you don’t get to go see Taking Back Sunday check out their music and see what they are about.
