**UPDATE**

Reuters is reporting that another offshore drilling rig has overturned in the gulf coast, this time in inland waters close to Morgan City, LA. Reuters writes that the Coast Guard has responded to an ‘accident’ at a ‘mobile inland drilling unit.’

——————————————————————————————————-

History seems to be repeating itself; an explosion from an offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico has spilled nearly 5,000 barrels of oil early Friday morning. The Oil is reaching Mississippi and Louisiana. In 1989 the Exxon Valdez tanker spilled 11 million gallons of oil into the ecologically sensitive Prince William Sound. This recent oil spill will surpass the damage the Exxon did almost 21 years ago. This is a catastrophe on epic proportions hopefully the wild life will be fine hopefully they can stop the damage before it gets worst. Check out some pics from the spill.
