In the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, two teenage girls were attacked last night.  According to the NY Daily News,

Shantayah Lewis, 16, and her 15-year-old pal, Shaquina Grant, were with a group of friends on Franklin Ave. in Crown Heights at about 5 p.m. when a man and a woman pulled up in a car, witnesses said.

Sixteen-year-old Shantayah Lewis was slashed repeatedly in the face.

The pair – who witnesses identified as ‘Darnell’ and ‘Corona’ – stormed out of the vehicle and zeroed in on the two teens.

The man grabbed the two girls and held them down as the woman repeatedly slashed and stabbed Lewis’ face with a knife and jabbed the blade once in Grant’s body, witnesses said.

Lewis’ friend Shaquina Grant, 15, was stabbed once.

The two girls somehow escaped and ran into the witness’ home a few blocks away, leaving a trail of blood behind them.  ‘They both tried to run here and Shantayah, the poor baby, passed out on the stoop.’

The two girls were taken to a nearby hospital and are expected to survive.
