Since her humble beginnings as a gawky teenage model from California, actress, producer and businesswoman Tyra Banks has defied expectations. She has soared to tremendous heights in fashion and television, while demystifying the high fashion world.
“When people have low expectations, you’re just constantly going, ‘Ta-da!’ And they’re like, ‘Wow,'” Banks said recently after it was discovered she was studying at Harvard Business School. “It doesn’t take a lot to wow them when they have low expectations.”
Banks has been shattering expectations for years, first by becoming the model they said she wouldn’t and then, years later, launching the world wide phenomenon known as America’s Next Top Model, seen in 170 countries, and her Emmy Award winning daytime talk show, “The Tyra Banks Show.”
With Banks, beauty as well as brains makes the world go round. We love her style because she’s never over or underdressed in public. In fact, Banks is nearly always modest.
