Some of you may be wondering who this good looking guy is, well wonder no more! This handsome man is an emerging artist and R&B newcomer, Miguel, who happens to have veteran connections to back up his soulful swagger.

Unlike the waves of generic R&B wannabes we’ve seen time and time again, the 22 year-old Miguel brings a fresh well-versed sound to the music game. His captivating melodies and smooth delivery have ALL the ladies up in arms, especially with his Billboard chart topping song “All I Want is You,” featuring rapper J.Cole and his MySpace and YouTube hit “Sure Thing.”

Wondering where he got his start? Well Miguel began his musical career back in the year 2000 at the impressionable age of thirteen, when he signed to a local California record label. Subsequently, Miguel signed to an independent record label, but eventually found his home at Jive Records after his manager submitted his MySpace hit “Sure Thing” to music label head Mark Pitts.

Since being signed with Jive, Miguel has teamed up and written songs for musical heavyweights such as Usher, Mary J. Blige, Musiq Soulchild, and Asher Roth. Contributing to Usher’s Here I Stand and Raymond v. Raymond albums, Miguel has proved himself to be a legitimate songwriter.

His musical style can be described as a cross between hip-hop, R&B, a little bit of funk, a splash of soul and a lot of sexy. In interviews, Miguel regarded his musical inspirations to Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Queen.

His debut single “All I Want is You,” is currently #27 on Billboard’s Hip-Hop/R&B chart and his song “Sure Thing” has received over 7 million hits on MySpace. Clearly Miguel is a force to be reckoned with as a new emerging artist. It will be interesting to see where his career goes from here, but I’m pretty sure that he will be one of those R&B singers we actually remember.

Get to know Miguel a little better. Listen to his hit records on the next page!
