It takes a lot to run the businesses of Russell Simmons. There are Argyle Culture, American Classics, Simmons Jewelry, Rush Card, Simmons Lathan Group, Global Grind and that’s not even considering his charitable organizations like Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, Foundation For Ethnic Understanding, Diamond Empowerment Fund, or yoga appointments. What you will soon find out is that a bunch of strong powerful women run his businesses: Simone, Christina, Tricia, and Piper, and not to forget the incredible interns Sagen and Ally.
Last night at Lavo Lounge in New York City, Russell Simmons threw a party to launch his new show Running Russell Simmons. The party was filled with supermodels, like Selita Ebanks, Heidy Allende, Veronica Webb, Paige Butcher and more. It’s not hard to see why the ladies support the most inspirational man in the business.
We asked Russell has he ever stopped to realize how much of an inspiration he is to people to which he said ‘No, but, it’s nice to hear.’ Throughout the night everyone showered Rush with love. Later in the evening, Russell explained the process of the life, ‘It’s a long process and you get it and you keep giving it and you keep getting, so you keep giving it. That’s the process. It’s an important way to look at life.’ You know what they say? You got to give love in order to get it, and last night proved Russell Simmons is loved by many.
