Lupe has a lot to say on ‘Black’ and he’s called it his “favorite record ever.” The track is produced by the Buchanans and in it, Lupe imagines a world with no slavery or racism. “You will never know what you could ever be/If you never try, you will never see/Stayed in Africa, you ain’t never leave/So there were no slaves in our history,” he raps. Lupe is no longer rapping about skateboarding, now he has black history and politics on his mind.
