The brand new Kanye West song, ‘Devil In A New Dress’ has already inspired other MC’s to hop on the Bink! produced beat, but no one has done it better than J. Cole.
Those unfamiliar with J. Cole’s career as a producer should know the rapper has a knack for creating beats just like the one heard in ‘Devil In A New Dress’> Something with boom bap and soulful sampling, it’s a great recipe for J. Cole’s inspired lyricism. There’s no chorus here, just Cole going in for close to 3:00 about the traps of fame and money, reflecting on the years when he was unsigned, and the expectations moving towards the future.
Cole also tweeted (@jcolenc) he might drop a new mixtape, but gave no time frame as to when that would happen. Here’s hoping it happens soon.
