Puzzled looks covered the faces of those watching the 2010 VMA’s, although most are used to Lady GaGa’s outlandish ensembles I don’t think anyone can overlook somewhere wearing a meat dress.

Within moments Lady GaGa’s meat dress became the talk of the town. Of course the pop star was making a statement with the dress, a variation of a meat beginning that she wore for the cover of  Vogue Hommes Japan,GaGa told the press that the dress was a political statement for discharged members of the military due to the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell policy’.

Although this wasn’t Lady GaGa’s first outrageous outfit choice, and probably won’t be her last, this got us to thinking about all the outrageous and controversial ensembles that celebrities have donned in the past.

Whether it was Bijork and her swan dress, Rose Mcgowan and her see-through dress, or Lil Mama dressed as a bedazzled baby, pacifier included, celebrities have gone out of their way to make some pretty interesting fashion statements.
