A Queens man died trying to save his little brother from a group of knife-wielding thugs – his efforts leading to his fatal stabbing.

Dario Paiva, 27, raced to his brother Khristian’s side after the younger man was beset by four attackers near the 85th Street-Forest Parkway J-train station.

The Woodhaven man was fatally stabbed around 11:30 p.m. after confronting his brother’s attackers on the subway platform. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jamaica Hospital. No arrests have been made, The New York Post reported.

Khristian Paiva, 19, said he was heading home after returning a rented video to a nearby store when four men he’d seen around the neighborhood, but didn’t know, abruptly started punching and threatening to stab him.

Paiva happened to be talking on his cell phone to his mother, Norma, who told reporters she heard the scuffle and sent the older brother to help from their nearby home, the AP reported.
