Angela Bassett gone villain with Lively in Lantern

<p>Officially cast to appear in the forthcoming adaptation of ‘Green Lantern,’ the DC Comics superhero, Bassett will play Dr. Amanda Waller.</p><p>While Bassett is best known for portraying Tina Turner in ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It,’ a struggling single mother in ‘Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns’ and Voletta Wallace, the mother of slain rapper, The Notorious B.I.G., in ‘Notorious,’ she is charged with overseeing the ‘Suicide Squad,’ a government run of captured supervillians performing tasks in exchange for freedom in ‘Green Lantern’.</p><p>Angela Bassett’s credits include "ER" and&nbsp;"Alias," in addition to roles in ‘Waiting To Exhale,’ ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back," ‘Mr. 3000,’ ‘Akeelah and the Bee,’ ‘Malcolm X’ and ‘The Jacksons: An American Dream,’ the latter as Katherine Jackson.</p>
