No, your eyes do not deceive you – this is a real internet poll set out to determine which of The Cosby Show sweaters reign supreme.
The Cosby Show wasn’t just iconic in the way that it positively portrayed a Black American family for the first time when it launched on NBC in 1984. It was also the beginning of a fashion era marked by big bulky sweaters with unique and funky prints worn by Bill Cosby himself. And just like that, the rest was history.
Now, two decades after the series ended, the internets has the chance to choose what they believe to be the most iconic Cosby sweater.
From the ‘Crew 32,” to the ‘Sweat 16,” the ‘Fleecy 8,” the ‘Warmest 4,” and finally, the ‘Champion Stitch’ round, there are a whole lotta sweaters to choose from.
So far, voters have narrowed all 131 Cosby sweaters worn on the show down to the “Fleecy 8,” from their respective categories: the argyles, cardigans, cashmeres and pullovers.
For the next week, you can help select the “Champion Stitch.”
Bill Cosby’s 2013 Sweater Tournament is the culmination of 5 other previous rounds, each 1 month long, where all 131 Cosby Sweaters worn on The Cosby Show were voted on by his Facebook, Twitter, and mobile app fans from around the world.
The polls open up every three days for 72 hours, so there’s plenty of time to make your pick.
