Passion Pit took on fun.’s Some Nights smash “Carry On” as a part of VEVO’s “Unexpected Covers” series.
Equipped with a piano and an army of back-up singers, Passion Pit’s frontman Michael Angelakos took to the stage and put his own spin on fun.’s “Carry On.” The stripped-down version of the song sounds so immaculate and Michael revealed his inspiration for the version later on during the show:
“I think it’s one of the prettiest songs on the radio, and it’s rare that you get such a pretty song sung in a different way, with different instrumentation…I think pared down like this, you can actually hear it for the brilliant song it is.”
