Tomorrow night Legacy of Hope Foundation is holding a private event in NYC to launch The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Global Campaign.
The Legacy of Hope foundation is the union of three registered medical foundations that provide life-changing surgeries, healthcare, and medical training programs in under-served areas of the world through international collaboration.
The campaign’s goal is to help raise money to build The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, thus bringing Nelson Mandela’s dream of free and accessible healthcare for the children of Southern Africa to reality.
Ford model Susan Gossage, an ambassador for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund had this to say about her work with the foundation:
I am blessed to have been an ambassador for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund UK @NMCF since 2011. Mr Mandela has been a strong advocate of love, peace and unity. I believe in his dream of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. Not only that, it never ceases to amaze me how a man can be imprisoned but yet forgive those that imprisoned him and dedicate his life to making the world they live in, a better place. He is an inspiration and I am proud and honoured to be a part of his foundation.

This quote is another reason I said yes to being involved with this foundation and also with this event. I want to be THAT generation. It doesn’t take a lot to make a difference, whether it’s for one person or one million people. I do it in the hopes that it is as infectious as a smile and more people will join me in trying to get to a world that Madiba dreams of.
