The 2013 ESPY Awards rolled out the red carpet at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles yesterday, and while the sun may have been shining pretty brightly at the step and repeat, that didn’t thwart a slew of not-so-summery looks from hitting the carpet.

While there were more than enough notable looks to ponder over, there seemed to be three color trends that dominated: red, black and white.

First, let’s break down the ladies in white.

WHITE:

You thought Draya Michelle was going to turn down her sex appeal? Wrong. The reality TV starlet looked dashing in a white gown with a cutout back and high slit. Lisa Leslie looked feminine and statuesque in her one shoulder embellished gown, which leads me to ponder if the one shoulder trend on evening gowns has seen its final days. Maria Sharapova wore a J. Mendel Resort 2014 paired with beachy hair and black pumps and won this round for keeping the look summery, short and chic.

BLACK:

Reggie Bush and his fiancee are glowing after the birth of their baby girl, while Gabby Douglas looked flawless in a little black dress with leather accents. Nobody can say a damn thing about Gabby’s hair now, because it was smooth, blowing and on full shine. But the other Gabby outshined Douglas in a Marc Bouwer Fall 2012 embellished dress with a plunging neckline. The look was a little heavy for summertime, but we love how she has been going to the past year’s designs for her looks lately.

RED:

And finally, some of the best-dressed people of the night left the actual carpet in awe of how good they rocked their reds. LeBron James took a risk in a red suit with black accents in the Miami Heat colors (duh), while his soon-to-be wife Savannah looked stunning rocking the same color scheme in a see-through lace number.

Selena Gomez also went the red lacy route in Dolce and Gabbana, while Robin Roberts kept it airy red.

Are you feeling the red, white and black theme of the night? Who rocked it best?
