In his upcoming movie 2 Guns alongside Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington took Lil Wayne’s classic rap lyric “Make it Rain” and made it even more epic with the help of a blazing grenade.
Since hip-hop’s inception, movies – particularly those with full on blazing action – and rap music have always gone hand in hand. Both tell hardcore tales of crime and violence while even glorifying their bad-guy characters.
While most don’t exactly condone the actions described in these types of films, we can’t deny the major influence classic gangster movie lines have had on hip-hop music, and we all have at least one favorite song that we love to bump when the bad boy mood hits.
