#SomewhereInAmerica, a woman is contemplating chopping her hair off and going blonde – at the same damn time. However, before you do that, make sure you give credit to this woman.

Celebrated celeb colorist Rita Hazan assisted in whipping up the bold blonde strands (and dark roots), seen on King Bey’s surprising pixie cut that she debuted via her Instagram page early Thursday morning.

Fashionista.com got a hold of Hazan, and chatted with her about what it was like to co-collaborate with the songstress on what’s being labeled her boldest hair transition – ever. Additionally, the fashion site quizzed the colorist about the overall coloring techniques she used and Beyoncé’s final reaction.

Take a read at these tidbits from the interview…

On working with the “Grown Woman” songstress:

I think she was ready for a big change. She has conquered the world at 31 with a new baby and a sold-out concert tour. She was relaxed and excited.

On the creative freedom Beyonce allowed her:

When I saw her cut, I knew the color had to be soft but powerful. She wanted to keep her natural color as a grown out look with roots to give it an edge. But, she allowed me creative freedom, which is amazing for a colorist to be able to do especially on a superstar like Beyoncé. And she lets me get to the end result in my own way, which here was a beautiful champagne blonde.

On the overall color mixing process:

I highlighted her strands one small area at a time. I was very precise in how I placed the highlights and wanted the color to be soft and sexy. For this, I chose to highlight her hair with champagne and summer blonde tones. By strategically highlighting her whole head in very tiny sections, we achieved the perfect look.

On Beyoncé’s reaction:

She loved it and I think she felt really beautiful.

OK, you may now proceed to get your cut and color on. Head over to Hazen’s site and book your appointment now, as we’re sure the salon will be backed up for the next upcoming months.
