Those days of flipping over your couch to intercept your significant other from taking a peek in your iPhone are gone, if you plan on upgrading to the iPhone 5S that is.
According to new speculations, the phone will be released at Apple’s next scheduled press release, which will take place on September 10th. But until then, all we can do is speculate about what Apple’s airtight plan will reveal.
The new phone is rumored to have technology that will recognize user fingerprints, and will be about the same size as the current iPhone 5, but made from something they’re calling “liquidmetal” that is stronger than alloy. Sounds intriguing.
The Huffington Post further dissected what we should be expecting from the update, reporting:
Last year, Apple quietly bought AuthenTec, a company that makes fingerprint sensor technology, for $356 million, and the general consensus is that Apple will include AuthenTec technology in its next iPhone. Cult of Mac calls the fingerprint sensor, which would be embedded on the convex home button and covered with scratch-resistant sapphire glass, the “big headlining feature” of the next iPhone.
In addition to all the fingerprints and liquidmetal, the camera is rumored to feature a 12-Megapixel Camera With Slow-Motion Video.
The iPhone 5S will have a 12-megapixel camera, according to an April report from Tinh te, relayed by iPhone in Canada. And last month 9to5 Mac reported that the iPhone 5S camera may also be capable of recording video at 120 frames per second, allowing for slow-motion video.
