Great music festivals are few and far in between, but over the past few years, festival organizers have mastered the art of executing and delivering a quality music experience.

Inspired by the masterful musical wonderland known as Coachella, D.C. “cultural cool kid” Modi Oyewole and his childhood friend Quinn Coleman launched D.C.’s first new age music festival where hip-hop and EDM collide in one common place.

With a broad idea and a precise vision, Oyewole and Coleman meticulously orchestrated the delivery of the Trillectro Music Festival in under four months.

GlobalGrind caught up with the Trillectro Music Festival founders to discuss how they brought a new music festival to D.C. in record time, the meaning behind “trillectro,” and of course, what fans should expect at this year’s festival.

All the trill stuff goes down this weekend at D.C.’s Half Street Fairground on Saturday, August 17 from 12-9 p.m. EST.
