The porn industry has called for a moratorium on filming after a performer tested positive for HIV.

According to the Huffington Post:

Cameron Bay, a female performer who has reportedly been in and out of the industry since 2010 using names Ashton, Cameron Lane and Ryder, reportedly told industry blog AVN Wednesday that she is the performer who received a possible though unconfirmed HIV-positive test.

Joanne Cachapero, membership director of the Free Speech Coalition, confirmed to HuffPost that Bay came forward with the test. The Free Speech Coalition is the industry’s nonprofit trade association that oversees a database of all adult performers’ STD tests.

In a twist of events, Bay shot her most recent sex scene with Xander Corvus, the man who starred in Sydney Leathers’ Anthony Weiner-inspired porn video. Which means the former sext-lover of the disgraced politician could have been exposed to the virus as well.

The Free Speech Coalition said that it is reaching out to producers to find and test the actor’s sex partners. And the coalition’s executive director, Diane Duke, said the actor is not believed to have been infected on a film set.

This isn’t the first time the porn industry has been hit with a sexually transmitted disease scare.

Last year, porn star Mr. Marcus, 42, admitted to altering his syphilis-positive test so that he could keep performing. The industry halted production for 10 days and Mr. Marcus was convicted of knowingly exposing two co-stars to syphilis and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Which is all just a reminder to stay safe out there. Porn stars, you’re not exempt!
