Elton John has had his fair share of downward spirals throughout his career, and he’s ready to deliver young celebrities a warning.

On his new album, Diving Board, even though the title song sounds very much like a retrospective track, it takes aim at Justin Bieber and Lindsay Lohan, lamenting about the cautionary side of fame.

“It isn’t [about me]. It’s about Lindsay Lohan, Justin, all these kids who are out there now not knowing what the hell is going on,” Elton said.

He also added:

“They get lost in the idea that they are famous for who they are, not what they are,” he continued. “I feel sorry for these kids.”

We’re wondering what he thinks about Miley Cyrus?

Diving Board releases September 24th in the U.S., but it’s out today in Australia.
