Even though the porn moratorium has been lifted and companies in California can start to film now, the HIV-scare in the industry just keeps growing.
A fifth performer has come forth to reveal that he too has contracted the virus.
According to the porn blog MikeSouth.com, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation held a teleconference in which Cameron Bay and Rod Daily, who openly revealed they had contracted HIV, were on the call with the fifth infected porn star, Patrick Stone, along with previously HIV-positive porn actors Derrick Burts and Darren James.
Stone, however, believes his test results may be falsely positive.
“It’s looking like a false-positive, but we’re still not 100 percent sure about that,” he said.
This week Bay and Daily came forth during a press conference held alongside AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein to urge porn companies to make condom use mandatory.
“Ultimately, it’s just a big industry, and their main concern is money,” said Daily, who tested positive for HIV shortly after girlfriend Bay tested positive. “If they do care that much about the performers, they would use condoms.”
Lesson here? Always practice safe sex. Not everything is what is seems in the “movies.”
