Karma, maybe?
A grandfather upset that his own daughter would kick out her son because he decided to come forward about his sexuality is getting all the praise this morning for being on the right side of history…and the right side of this battle.
All the details about the grandfather’s passionate plea to his daughter are unknown, but what we do know is that he is speaking the truth in this letter that first appeared on Facebook.
“…kicking Chad out of your home simply because he told you he was gay is the real ‘abomination’ here. A parent disowning her child is what goes ‘against nature.'”
He continues:
“He was born this way and didn’t choose it more than he being left-handed. You, however, have made a choice of being hurtful, narrow-minded and backward. So while we are in the business of disowning children, I think I’ll take this moment to say goodbye to you. I now have a fabulous (as the gay [sic] put it) grandson to raise…”
Well damn! Somebody is about to win grandfather of the year.
But in all seriousness, we hope this family can face their differences and work this out together. Because a father doesn’t need to be without his daughter either.
