The Daily Grind Video

So…beef dead?

Two weeks after Kanye West blasted Jimmy Kimmel on Twitter for making fun of his now infamous BBC interview, the all-time great artist, and self-proclaimed genius, appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show to clear everything up.

And boy, was it interesting.

In an interview that lasted a majority of the show, Kanye West explained why he got so ticked off at Jimmy in the first hand. Well, that and a whole bunch of other things.

On Kanye’s anger towards Kimmel, the rapper said:

“I knew you before. And I remember you telling me, I want people to know this side of you…so it was a combination of me knowing you, but also me NOT knowing the person who wrote a bad headline on the cover of In Touch…well this is the one person I know. So I can go and let out everything that I feel about every single bogus weekly cover, every skit, every single rumor in barber shops, everything that people feel is ok to treat celebrities like zoo animals….so it elevated from a conversation that we had like men…you take a guy, Jimmy does his thing. And I do my thing…egos flare up and we kind of took back to high school for a minute.”

Kanye didn’t stop at Kimmel. The rapper used the platform to basically vent about everything going on in his life.

Speaking on the paparazzi, which have been a well-known nuisance in his life, he said:

“We bring something of joy to the world. When people listen to my music, they have a good time, and I should be respected as such when I walk down the street…Don’t try and antagonize me because you know what? It’s not safe for you in this zoo. Never think that I’m not from Chicago for one second,” but also: “You do help me get money, paparazzi. You show people how fresh my outfit is.”

Speaking on racism he still feels:

“There’s no black guy at the end of the runway in Paris. All we wanna do is make awesome stuff. I refuse to follow those rules that society has set up and the way that they can control people with low self-esteem… It’s about truth, it’s about information, it’s about awesomeness, and the only luxury is time.”

He even talked about his lady getting shortchanged, saying: “People are so, so dated…there’s no way a Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame.”

The interview was sometimes confusing, mostly interesting and always Kanye.
