The crew behind the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation has hit a slight snag. Charlie Hunnam, the hunky actor cast as Christian Grey, has dropped out of the film.
According to an official statement released by Universal Pictures, Hunnam dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts. Despite the statement, insiders say the British Sons of Anarchy actor had other motives.
“He dropped out of the project because he didn’t want to be typecast,” a source told People magazine. “He didn’t want the Robert Pattinson-esque attention that would come along with taking on this role.
Regardless of his reasons, the search has officially begun for a new Christian to star alongside Dakota Johnson’s Ana, and we think we’ve found a few solid contenders! I mean, really – Hollywood is full of eligible hotties.

This Pretty Little Liars hunk could be a good fit for the role – he’s handsome, has perfect bone structure and – hello! He’s totally ripped.
Chris Evans
Known largely for his role in the Fantastic Four, Chris Evans is just the man for the role of Christian Grey. Sure, he’s not used to playing the bad boy, but we’re pretty sure he could handle it. Evans is reportedly being considered for the role and has taken precedence over many of the other nominees.
Ian Somerhalder
Somerhalder is smokin’ hot and knows how to be both sexy and a little dark – plus, check out the eyes on this guy.
Ryan Gosling
In a perfect world, all sexy lead roles would be played by Ryan Gosling, but he’s only one guy and can’t do it all, I guess. We can dream though, right?
Chris Pine
Star Trek: Into Darkness hottie Chris Pine has been mentioned for the role. Unfortunately with two films in the works, it seems he may be a bit too busy to take on another project. Le sigh!
Channing Tatum
This one’s a no-brainer – you can’t talk sexy leading men and not mention Channing. We’d love to see Tatum in a darker (and way sexier) role. Pretty please, E.L James?
Liam Hemsworth
Yes, please! Liam’s got the face, body and acting chops to fill the Fifty Shades lead role perfectly.
Bradley Cooper
Bradley’s got this whole twisted-but-sexy thing down to a science. It’s like this role was made for him!
Justin Bartha
Bartha rose to fame as Doug from The Hangover trilogy, but we think it’s about time he embrace his sex-factor and try a new type of character on for size.
