After a short hiatus, a dedicated tattoo, a hip surgery and a well-costumed comeback, the much-anticipated day is here: Lady Gaga has officially dropped her album ArtPop, but not without making a little noise first.

The pop star was featured in the latest issue of Attitude Magazine, and she’s not holding back when it comes to questions about her sexuality and where she stands as far as being called a “Gay Icon.” Check out some excerpts from the interview below.

On her sexuality:

I mean, I am bisexual, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. I don’t need to -– I’m sorry if this is a bit vulgar – but I don’t need to eat pussy in front of the whole world for people to take me seriously. You can believe it or not, it’s just here, I’m honest. I’m not saying it to be controversial; there you have it, here I am, take it or leave it. I know I am not just a lesbian –- I have a boyfriend –- but all of my friends are in this community.

On being a “gay icon”:

But… but… but… but here, where do I say I’m a gay icon? I never said I was a gay icon. When did that happen? Are those lyrics on the album? Absolutely not. I don’t even consider myself… I don’t even know what that word means. That was a label that was invented years ago. I’m a… [Pauses] I’m a gay supporter.

Well, that was a lot to take in, but the Gaga news doesn’t stop there. Last night she threw an epic album release party in New York City and put a real-life Jeff Koons sculpture featured on her album cover. But more impressive than the giant Gaga was the new flying dress she debuted.

Yes. A flying dress.

The flying dress of course has a name: ‘Volantis.’ She debuted the dress at a secret location in New York City during an event called artRave. The flying dress is powered by 50-volt batteries and was reportedly developed by Lady Gaga’s TechHaus, the tech department of the artist’s Haus of Gaga project.

Interesting. You can see the dress in motion below.
