As many rally to go see the highly anticipated The Best Man Holiday as it hits theaters today, we are taking it back and showing just how revolutionary the original film actually was.
In the clip above, we receive commentary from the likes of actress Kim Coles, Love & Hip-Hop star Yandy Smith and Awkward Black Girls creator Issa Rae, who tell us how Candy’s twerk scene was the first of its kind (take that, Miley). Yandy agrees, “I wanted to get my twerk on like her because she left that bachelor party with a man.” Yup, sounds about right.
The Best Man is back and better than ever. In the clip above, we get to see just how one of our favorite characters, Shelby, was the queen of shade, fully equipped with her innate ability to read a person like an open book. Her eye rolling, catty commentary and sexy swag remind us just why we fell in love with her and all the rest of the cast (who have not aged a bit) in the first place.
