Every year on the last Thursday of November, families across America gather ’round the dinner table to celebrate Thanksgiving. We head home to count our blessings, stuff our faces, watch football or the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – all in the company of our entire. crazy. family.

That’s right, crazy uncles, abrasive aunts, delusional grandmas and grandpas and cousins you didn’t even know you had come out of the woodwork for this one! Admit it, by the end of Thanksgiving day, you’re just thankful that you’re still sane – at least slightly.

Surviving Thanksgiving can be a struggle, but fear not. We’ll get through this together. You’ve done it before and you’ll do it again – over and over and over. But for those of you feeling like you just can’t handle another year of holiday chaos, we’ve created a guide to surviving this Thanksgiving!

Check it out.

Thanksgiving is arguably the worst holiday out there…

…especially when you consider exactly what it is we’re celebrating…

…and what’s good with this menu?!

What’s worse, Thanksgiving means heading back to your hometown…

…being fake with old “friends”…

…making excuses not to see others…

…and spending at least a full 12 hours with your entire crazy family.

There are a number of ways to tackle this situation…

…no, not like that…

Stick with us. We’ll get you through it!

You could skip out, but we all know how that will end…

So prepare to field stupid questions like, “When are you getting married?” and “How’s the job hunt going?”

and be ready to be compared to all your younger, more successful family members…

Be careful about bringing a new significant other over during the holidays…

…Give them the run down of what to expect ahead of time and for the love of God, go over a few talking points to avoid any of this…

Keep any and all conversations light…

…that means avoid talking about religion…

…race…

…or politics…

…and don’t you dare comment on the food. Shut up and eat it…

…Because that could get real tense, real quick.

We’ve all got a family member that likes to push our buttons…

…or comment on our recent weight gain…

Just stay cool. Take a moment to collect yourself…

Don’t get too involved in family gossip. Trust me, it’s for the better…

Keep a drink in hand at all times…

…maybe more than one…

…because we can all agree, we’re especially thankful for wine and liquor during the holidays.

Get wrapped up in the game…

…It doesn’t matter who’s playing. Football is a great excuse to eat and drink without making conversation.

Just keep your eyes on the prize…

…And remember that no matter how nuts your family is, you love them…
