She isn’t the first artist to do it.
Katy Perry is being criticized for lip syncing during a live performance at the NRJ Music Awards in France. The pop singer was in the middle of singing her mega-hit single “Roar,” when a malfunction occurred, leaving Katy and her music totally out of sync. It was so noticeable, that even the award show host stopped Perry in the midst of her dancing and asked if she wanted to restart the performance. Yikes.
Although Katy looked mortified, she took it like a champ and kept a brave face, starting the entire performance over.
The 29-year-old has been extremely vocal recently, even discussing her divorce and dating John Mayer, so it’s possible she will open up about this lip syncing debacle soon.
