No disrespect Father Winter, but we here on the East Coast are O-V-E-R you.
For the second year in a row, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is landing in New York City as inclement weather has dumped a bunch of snow all over the very city we planned on strutting around in wearing our favorite shoes and capes. Yes, the Polar Vortex looms over us and snowed all over our fun, but that won’t stop us from being fab!
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite pieces to keep warm in this Fashion Week and every week, and because we love you, here are 3 style gems to get you through the urge to throw on sweats during NYFW:
1. Snow doesn’t have to mean ugly shoes: Plenty of shoes feature grips that can navigate the concrete terrain with ease, and if that fails, opt for a stacked heel that’s easy to keep your footing in.
2. Keep those feet dry: Try to opt for weatherproof shoes like the lace-up Hush Puppies featured above. Few things are more stylish in crappy weather than knowing you can walk with your head high, without worrying about splashing into a big puddle.
3. Cover your head: Your mom was always right, but she was especially right when she said keeping your head covered traps in valuable heat that you need to keep warm. It’s also a perfect excuse for covering up a bad hair day that is sure to show up circa NYFW Day 5.
