Frank Ocean better have some loose ends, because a record label is suing him.

The Channel Orange singer/songwriter is catching heat over copyright claims connected to Mary J. Blige’s 1992 hit “Real Love.” The sample in question was used on the Channel Orange singer’s “Super Rich Kids.”

HypeTrak Reports:

According to record label TufAmerica, they own the track “Impeach the President” by The Honeydrippers – which was sampled in Blige’s track and makes up 3.15% of Blige’s song – meaning that the lawsuit will essentially be about the use of a sample within a sample.

TufAmerica has also sued Jay Z, Kanye West, and Beastie Boys over the past few years. Since this isn’t Frank’s first rodeo around copyright court, we’re not too worried about him. Hopefully, he’ll get this all straightened out.
