Every season, designers are pushed to create something new and fresh to debut during New York Fashion Week, and this fall, Laurel DeWitt rose to the occasion by creating pieces unlike any other.
Since 2010, Laurel has consistently taken accessory design to new extremes through her innovative use of metal and chain. Her intricate body chains have garnered attention from the likes of Lady Gaga, Lil Kim, Kelly Rowland and many, many others. Now, she’s entered a new territory of accessory artistry.
Representative of her reign as a designer, Laurel’s latest collection consisted of armored looks made entirely by hand of manipulated medal. Slinky chained dresses and shiny shields, one modeled by our very own Mashonda’s son Kasseem, stunned on the runway, but there was one particular silver gown that was a complete showstopper.
