Angel Haze is definitely one to be on the lookout for.

In addition to her new single “Battle Cry” rising up the charts, Angel is the latest cover girl for Fault Magazine. Inside the mag, the rising femcee discusses fan love, getting rid of demons, escaping her rough past and becoming a better person.

With swirls of smoke puffing out of her mouth, Angel looks relaxed and fashionable on the cover in a D’Albert bomber jacket, Jean Pierre Braganza trousers, Dr. Marten boots and This Is A Lovesong tee. And we’re really feeling the Detroit-native’s loosely-waved locks with dipped purple-ish grey ends that give off a soft ombre look.

Check out interview tidbits and more photos from Haze’s spread below.

On connecting with fans:

“People who get me, get me because they are me in some sense….they take my music and they make it what they need.”

On the impact of music:

“I wanted to use music as catharsis…to rid myself of all my demons and all the shit I couldn’t deal with alone.”

And while Angel certainly doesn’t shy away from discussing her past struggles in life, she opens up about how she’s worked on being a better person:

“You change, you evolve, and you never want to go back.”
