Lil Boosie is a changed man.
The 31-year-old rapper, who was released from jail in March after a 5-year bid, recently made a bold statement while talking to TMZ reporters concerning pharmaceutical company Actavis’ attempt to get “lean” off the street by cutting off their cough syrup supply.
Surprisingly, Boosie is all for it and thinks the addictive drink ruined the culture of hip-hop.
According to the site:
Boosie tells TMZ he nearly died 3 or 4 times from drinking lean and says it’s ‘f***ed up a lot of rappers and the culture of hip hop.’ He says users don’t realize something that tastes like Kool-Aid can be so addictive.
The rapper — who tells us he’s clean now — spent 5 years behind bars on drug charges, including time for trying to smuggle codeine syrup into prison. He adds, ‘Once you on, it’s hard to get off … it’s damn near impossible.’
Lil Boosie for president, everybody! Just kidding, but we’re glad he’s on a healthier, more positive track these days. He’s got a little girl to look after!
