Cee Lo’s “Happy” is the biggest song of 2014.

Oops, we meant to write Pharrell. As we all know, Pharrell is the man behind “Happy.” But the song, which was written and produced by P himself, was actually meant for Cee Lo Green.

The producer/singer/rapper revealed this piece of information when appearing on the Howard Stern Show the other day:

“[Cee Lo] wanted to do it … [and] he did do it…He sounded amazing on it. I mean, he burns my version! But the … how do I say this diplomatically? Um … he … um … The powers that be, at the time, did not see it fit for him. Some folks on his team just felt that the priority should be on [Cee Lo’s] album at the time, so they elected not to do that song.”

Cee Lo gotta be pissed, no? Here’s the thing, stuff like this happens all the time.

Did you know Katy Perry could have had Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts?” Or that Pusha T could have had The Throne’s “Niggas in Paris?”
