After a lot of hype, promotion and anticipation, Godzilla opened up with a monster weekend. The reboot starring Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Elizabeth Olsen pulled in $93.2 million dollars.
Props have to be given to Warner Bros. marketing department, as Box Office Mojo writes:
Godzilla’s success this weekend can be attributed to some smart choices made by the Warner Bros. marketing department. Coming off last Summer’s disappointing Pacific Rim, Warner Bros. opted to pitch Godzilla first-and-foremost as a disaster movie (instead of a monster movie). Advertisements hid the title character—and avoided even mentioning the other monsters—and instead put an emphasis on the human impact of large-scale destruction.
Speaking on a job well done, we have to give it up to Game Of Thrones for another excellent episode last night. The hit HBO show is taking a week off next week to give its viewers a chance to recoup after the cliffhanger in episode 37: Mockingbird. Here is a behind the scenes look at last night’s Game of Thrones.
HBO looks to continue their run of greatness with the final season of True Blood. The new trailer looks insane as this vampire saga comes to a close. Is the time right?
Lastly, it looks like Hollywood has a new hot couple. According to the reports, Cameron Diaz is dating Benji Madden.
“It’s very new” and they’re “just hanging out,” a source tells Us of Diaz, 41, and Madden, 35. The pair have only been seeing each for the past several weeks.
If Benji was smart, he’s go pick up Cameron Diaz in his Ferrari. If he doesn’t have one, he should buy one.
