It’s understood by now: Kanye West is no good at apologies. And when it comes to his latest disagreement/negative comments about Annie Leibovitz, there’s no exception.

‘Ye first made comments concerning the famous photographer after she failed to show up and take photos for his Italian wedding to Kim Kardashian earlier this summer. At the Cannes Lions Festival, Kanye stated that Leibovitz “pulled out of the wedding,” forcing the rapper to spend a whole lotta time (four days) getting the picture perfect “I do” moment just right.

To resolve the issue in a less “Kanye manner,” both side’s representatives came together to release a joint statement:

Kanye West’s comments about Annie Leibovitz while speaking at the 2014 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival have been taken out of context and sensationalized.

Although Kanye expressed frustration that he was not able to collaborate with Annie Leibovitz at his recent wedding, he is not assigning blame, and is not accusing Annie in any way. Kanye and Annie’s representatives were in negotiations for weeks that were not completed by the time of the wedding.

It sounded a lot like blame to us too, but we’ll let that one slide. Leibovitz’s representative also reassured everyone that the photographer did have interest in shooting the wedding:

Annie would have been happy to do the portrait but she was never confirmed.

You can’t exactly blame KimYe for wanting their first photos as a married couple to be perfect. After seeing Leibovitz’s skills on the couple’s very first Vogue cover, it seemed only natural to go with her. But of course, Kanye couldn’t stay quiet for long.

“Picture this, the most-liked Instagram photo of all time, shot by Annie Leibovitz. Oh, I’m sorry for dreaming out loud. Again.”

If ‘Ye hasn’t decided to cut Leibovitz off completely, maybe she’ll be able to shoot the family for some over the top holiday photos.
