Two years after its initial launch it seems Diddy’s found someone worthy of the Vice Chairman spot at Revolt TV!

The music mogul has officially appointed Andre Harrell, his longtime friend and mentor to the position.

The announcement was made via press release.

“For over 25 years as my friend and mentor, I had a front row seat as I watched Andre Harrell shape Nu American culture through music, film and tv.  Andre has always been a source of inspiration and guidance for artists and executives throughout our industry.  I can think of no one who I trust more as a leader and visionary to help me and my Revolt team as we embark upon our second year of growth and expansion,” he said.

The release went on to detail Harrell’s achievements in the music industry, crediting him for launching the careers of major celebs like Mary J. Blige, Heavy  and many more.

“As the founder of Uptown Records, Chairman of Motown Records, and founder of Nu America Music, for four decades Andre Harrell has been one of leading entertainment entrepreneurs and cultural ambassadors of our time.

With the founding of Uptown Records and Management, Harrell launched the careers of not only Mary J. Blige, Heavy D and the Boyz, Jodeci, Al B. Sure, Anthony Hamilton, The Lost Boyz, Teddy Riley and Guy, but also mentored the executive career of Sean “Puffy” Combs.  Harrell, known to have the midas touch when it came to discovering and developing talent, Harrell was responsible for changing the sound of R&B music, the architect of the tanning of America, and crossing artist and executives over into what was then known as “pop culture”.  By the end of 1994, Billboard Magazine ranked Uptown second amongst all the major labels for the number of charted R& B singles and fifth for the number of R&B charted albums.”

In his newly appointed position Harrell will be responsible for helping to launch the first annual Revolt Music Conference in Miami.

As the newly appointed Vice Chairman of Revolt TV and Combs Enterprises, Harrell  is excited about launching the first annual Revolt Music Conference “RMC” October 16-19, 2014 in Miami.  Harrell describes the RMC as the first conference to marry the top media entrepreneurs and executives from the worlds of traditional music A&R, marketing, and distribution with technology, social media, digital distribution, and consumer brands”

Harrell responded to the news saying:

“Some of my best work has been when Puff and I work together.  We create magic and we change the world.”  He further stated, “Now I also have the pleasure of working closely as a team with Co-Founder and President of Revolt, Andy Shoun, media expert and CEO of Revolt, Keith Clinskales, and our EVP of Programming, Valerie Boreleand.  This is one of the most exciting times in my career.  I am humbled and thankful for the opportunity.”
