The Obama administration is considering a new solution to the massive influx of unaccompanied minors from Honduras to the U.S.-Mexican border. White House officials said Thursday that the administration is weighing the possibility of giving refugee status to these young migrants. The plan would involve screening youths in Honduras, one of the world’s most violent nations, to determine whether they qualify for refugee status in the U.S. Officials cautioned that no decision has been made yet, but that they are considering a range of solutions for this growing concern. A teenager in India who had more than 200 “teeth” growing in his mouth, due to a mild dental tumor, was able to get them successfully surgically removed from his mouth earlier this week. During the six-hour operation, doctors removed 232 denticles — an abnormal teeth-like growth — lodged in his mouth. The abnormal teeth were deeply rooted into the bone inside the lower right jaw and were not visible from outside the mouth. Doctors say the surgery was “dangerous” and the patient’s jawbone will take three to four months to heal. Read more about it here… [CNN]

Two women accused of a deadly fight with a bride-to-be outside of a California nightclub were found guilty Thursday after a two-week trial. Candace Brito, 27, and Vanesa Zavala, 26, had pleaded not guilty in the death of Annie Hung Kim Pham, who was taken off life support after a fight outside the Santa Ana bar back in January. Both women have been convicted of felony manslaughter, but acquitted on second-degree murder charges, which carry a potential life sentence. Each face up to 11 years in state prison. It’s as creepy as creepy gets, and the residents of San Clemente agree. A Southern California woman decided to clean out her porcelain doll collection, and leave them on the doorsteps of her neighbors. Disturbed and confused, residents notified police about dolls that were popping up in front of people’s homes. And what residents found even more freaky was that the dolls had a striking resemblance to some of their daughters. According to Orange County police, the woman was clearing out her doll collection and thought the young girls in the neighborhood might enjoy them. Read more about it here…[NBC Los Angeles]
