Common’s Nobody’s Smiling LP is very much an album about and for Chicago.
So it’s not surprising that the rapper reps hard for his city in the album’s videos. The latest video — following the Vince Staples-featured “Kingdom,” is for Diamonds — which features rapper Big Sean. (We would call this a G.O.O.D. Music reunion, but Common has gone on the record to say that he’s no longer with the label.)
In the video, we see an outline of Common and Big Sean, as images of Chicago and Detroit, Big Sean’s hometown, go across the background.
