At one time, Kanye West and Cam’ron were quite friendly co-workers. Things have changed over the years, and they are now severe rivals.
OK, we’re being overdramatic. However, yesterday, the folks at Complex caught up with Killa Cam’ron at Rucker Park in Harlem. While there, the site flat out asked Cam’ron who was the better style icon: him or current fashion don Kanye West?
Here’s what he said:
“Of course I’m going to say me…Whether it’s Ye’ or Ralph Lauren. It doesn’t matter who it is, it’s going to be me.”
This is interesting, because before Kanye became the “It fashion guy” in pop music, Cam’ron was the one setting most of the trends (this was the early to mid 2000s). Cam’ron’s most notable fashion achievement? He had half of New York City wearing pink for a short time.
Even though his cape thing didn’t really take off like he thought it would (or we thought it should) we still have to respect Cam’s fashion muscle.
