It’s official. GlobalGrind is moving its offices to Houston.
Why? Because Houston is the only place where we can hear Beyonce on the radio, 24 hours, seven days a week.
Just a week ago, Houston folks would turn into News92 FM and hear, ya know, news. That’s no more. This week, the radio station laid off its newsroom, which was 47 employees, and shut down the news department, due to “poor ratings” and “significant financial losses.” (Terrible day for journalism; wonderful day for the Beyhive.)
So what’s there now? Beyonce. The channel has turned into a 24/7 all-Beyonce radio station.
When asked why such a drastic change, Yashima Azilove, VP of corporate communications for the station’s owner, Radio One, simply said:
“We want folks to tune in.”
The station will not only play solo Beyonce songs, but collaborations and even old Destiny’s Child records.
