She may have won a Grammy, but San Francisco is not trying to hear that “Royals” song from Lorde for awhile.

The city is currently gearing up their San Francisco Giants to take on the Kansas City Royals in the World Series, and the radio stations have officially put a ban on the song by the 17-year-old singer.

Lorde revealed in interviews that the inspiration for the song was based on a photograph she saw in National Geographic of a ballplayer with Royals on his shirt. It turns out the photograph was of George Brett signing baseballs for fans.

According to KMBC, San Fran won’t play the song until the World Series is over in the next coming weeks; they take on the Kansas City team tomorrow in Game 1.

It’s a little extreme, but you can’t take any chances when it comes to a city’s baseball pride.
