So this happened.

Jacksonville Jaguars player Dwayne Gratz was arrested Sunday morning in Miami on account he tried to use gum to pay for items from a store.

The starting cornerback was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts after attempting to use candy as his currency in what authorities believe to be a drunken spell.

Miami Beach Police report states that Gratz was arrested at 5:53 a.m. Sunday after he tried to use bubble gum to purchase items from a store. He argued with an employee, refused to leave the store after police arrived, had blood-shot eyes and smelled of alcohol.

Gratz was released from jail on Monday and is to meet with coach of the Jaguars to discuss any further punishment.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley says, “I’ll meet with him and we’ll handle it internally. It’s not good what took place.”

Too bad this isn’t a Trident Layer Gum commercial.
