“Hot N*gga” rapper Bobby Shmurda was arrested for the third time this year in connection with a long-term investigation by the NYPD involving several shootings and drug trafficking.
The Brooklyn rapper was taken into police custody with members of his GS9 crew Tuesday night. Police were watching Shmurda via surveillance as he sat in his car outside a recording studio. According to Billboard:
Kati Cornell, the director of public information for New York City’s special narcotics prosecutor, confirmed that the rapper was arrested in his car in the early hours of morning. According to official sources, he was arrested along with several members of GS9, the Brooklyn gang that also lends its name to Shmurda’s rap crew.
TMZ reports that he is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
