It’s been over a year since 2 Chainz dropped Based On A T.R.U. Story II: Me Time, and he’s planning to kick off the new year right with a new mixtape inspired by the 1991 film New Jack City.
During the New York City launch of the PRPS x 2 Chainz denim collection, 2 Chainz sat down with Revolt TV to chat about the capsule collection and readying new projects in 2015.
“Top of the year is the rollout of the whole campaign with my third album in three years. And then I’ve got this mixtape called Tru Jack City. It’s my mixtape, but it’s for up-and-coming rappers in Atlanta.
“It’s real ratchet, it’s real street. It’s catered for the core. We’re a crew full of individuals. It’s one thing about TRU. It’s about being the real you… We just putting on. We got something to bring to the table and we got something to say.”
There you have it. 2 Chainz and Tru Jack City will be taking over 2015.
