Way to end the year.

J. Cole’s acclaimed third studio album has officially gone gold. 2014 Forest Hills Drive first debuted at number one on Billboard with 371,228 copies sold.

Over the past week, the “Be Free” rapper moved another 135k copies, propelling his album to gold status with more than 500k copies sold. As of today, J. Cole is the highest-selling hip-hop artist of 2014.

Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint landed at number two, selling 194k copies in its first week, falling a little short of stopping Taylor Swift’s Billboard reign. Nicki did score the number one spot on Billboard’s Hip-Hop/R&B Charts, though.

Congrats to Cole and Nicki.
