TMZ has reported George Zimmerman was charged with aggravated assault for fighting with his girlfriend about a work of art. Police claim Zimmerman wanted back a painting he gave to the woman. The two had an argument and Zimmerman tossed a wine bottle at her.
Police spoke to Zimmerman about the fight on Jan. 9 — and he claimed SHE threw the bottle. Cops didn’t buy his version of the incident … and arrested him for aggravated assault.
Zimmerman has been dating the woman for a few months.
More to come on this developing story.

Who can forget George Zimmerman, the man who was acquitted in the tragic shooting of Trayvon Martin in 2013?
Well, Zimmerman has made the news once again. Late Friday night he was arrested in Seminole County for aggravated assault with a weapon. USA Today reports:
According to Seminole County booking documents, Zimmerman, 31, was arrested by the Lake Mary police and was booked at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility at 10:10 p.m.
He is being held without bond and will appear in court at 9 a.m.
This isn’t the first time he’s had an encounter with authorities since his acquittal. In September, Zimmerman allegedly threatened to shoot a man during a road rage conflict.
Stay tuned as the story develops.
