The cast of Selma wants to bring awareness to racial injustices in America on and off the big screen.
History was made this weekend, as Oprah Winfrey, David Oyewolo, director Ava DuVernay, the town of Selma, and fans marched in honor of the late Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, reenacting his march in Alabama.
Before reaching the bridge over the Alabama River, where Bloody Sunday went down, Oprah told those marching:
‘Every single person who was on that bridge is a hero.’
‘Martin Luther King as an idea, Selma as an idea and what can happen with strategy, with discipline and with love.’
