Many fans and viewers happened to notice that Joan Rivers was left out of the Academy Awards’ ‘In Memoriam’ portion of the show last night.

While many were acknowledged during the tribute to those who have passed away in the last year, the late Fashion Police comedian was noticeably snubbed from it, and many are not too happy, including her daughter.

According to TMZ, Melissa Rivers is said to be disappointed with the Oscar show snub, as sources revealed, but she is trying to keep the focus on her mother’s fans.

The site reports:

Sources close to Melissa say she feels her mom deserved a place in the ‘In Memoriam’ portion of the Oscars, but she’s not going to focus on the snub.

We’re told she’d rather focus on the overwhelming support from her fans, who have rallied behind her mom since her death in September.

But Melissa has a legitimate beef — seems like the Academy forgot how Joan owned Oscar red carpets for years … and her hysterical role as Dot Matrix in “Spaceballs!”

The Academy got word of many fans’ upset with the snub, and released the following statement:

“Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the In Memoriam segment of this year’s Oscar show. She is, however, included in our In Memoriam gallery on Oscar.com.”

How do you feel about Joan Rivers not being included in the ‘In Memoriam’ portion of the show?
